Silversun Pickups

COACHELLA 2007



I enjoy a few indie bands and one of them is "Silversun Pickups". Silversun Pickups got my attention when I first heard "Lazy Eye" I was totally hooked. The crazy thing about this song it doesn't even have a chorus but it was still a catchy tune. I heard them around 2006 and during that year I checked out their album. The album was pretty good.

I finally got a chance to see them Live in 2007, they were one of the headliners on Friday night at Coachella. I remember seeing "Tokyo Police Club" and after them I rushed to the main stage to see Silversun Pickups. They came out on perfect timing , it had been a hot day and when they started to perform the sun started to come down and you can feel the breeze with the sounds of the music.

I love them live they put a great show and the bassist Nikki kicks ass =]]] and not just because she's a girl but because she seriously talented.

Silversun Pickups was formed in Los Angeles, CA. According to wikipedia they were formed in 2002, and would get their start at L.a Clubs mostly Silverlake Lounge or nearby Spaceland.They were also originally named "A Couple of Couples'.

Manu Chao

Coachella 2007 =]]




It was 2005 when I traveled to Nicaragua for a few months. When I stayed over there the music was very international, a lot of songs played in different languages.One artist that stood out to me was "Manu Chao'. MtvTres played "Me Gustas Tu" music video, and the video was very intriguing. Not only was the video unique but the song was catchy and catchy simple lyrics, but yet had so much meaning =]]


As the years passed by and I came back to Los Angeles I didn't really hear of Manu Chao as much , but then again international artists get more credit in europe and latin america before the states do. I still would download tracks from them just because it was different and wasn't being played out on the radio here in Los Angeles.


That all changed when in 2007 Manu Chao was one of the big headliners for COACHELLA Yay!!!!!! What a night to remember, they were the opening act for "Rage Against The Machine". Manu Chao sure pumped the crowd !!!!! They had every style of music but they had the whole crowd jumping into happy sweat lol.

Manu Chao is not a group his name is José-Manuel Thomas Arthur Chao Treviño. Jose sings in French, Spanish, English, Portuguese, and Arabic.According to sources from wikipedia Chao began his career with Hot Pants which is a French band.

The LAST ALBUM that was Released was in October 2009 which is "Baionarena".
